Invitational Tournaments

Invitational Tournaments are optional competitions that give teams a chance to practice their skills, tinker with their devices, and experience the difficulty level of tests and labs in a tournament setting. Participation does not impact team regional or state advancement.

Invitational tournaments require a separate registration fee, to be collected by the invitational tournament director. Invitationals use the official Science Olympiad rules and are usually hosted by local middle and high school teams. Some tournaments may limit participation strictly to their region, while others have "open" registration where anyone (including out-of-state teams) can participate.

Please note: Ohio does not sell its invitational tests or accept offers of registration payment for teams not participating in the actual tournament.

All teams participating in any Invitational Tournament must be a registered member of a state Science Olympiad program.
