2026 Ohio Science Olympiad State Tournament


Teams will earn a spot in the 2026 Ohio Science Olympiad State Tournament hosted by The Ohio State University. The 2026 tournament is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026.

The Ohio State University will not take custodial responsibility for minors while participating in the Ohio Science Olympiad Program. Custodial responsibility will remain with teachers, parents, legal guardians and chaperones. Minors must be properly supervised at all times.

2026 Parking Map

Friday:

  • Attendee/Team/Bus Parking: Northeast Ohio Stadium Lot (closes at midnight for Spring Game)

Saturday: No stadium parking 

  • AM Events Volunteer & OSU Ambassadors (arrival time(s) 6:30AM-8:00AM) & STEM Expo Exhibitors (arrival time 10:30AM-10:45AM)
    • Neil Avenue Garage (see parking map) 
  • PM Event Volunteers (11:15AM arrival)
    • French Fieldhouse Lot (see parking map)
    • OHSO will golf cart anyone who needs a lift from French Fieldhouse lots to RPAC 
  • Public parking: Free across game day on campus, ramps included
    • Arrive before 9AM to avoid any traffic and to get the best parking options
    • Spectators arriving after 9AM are welcome to park in any available lot/garage
      • ARPS Garage, or the Ohio Union Garages, do not fill up on game days and will be available.
  • Please text OSUFB to 67283. This will add you to receive any updates about traffic, parking, weather, and emergency alerts sent out by OSU Athletics during the Spring Game. This will provide the most up to date information on full garages and routes to avoid. 

Traffic, Transportation, & Travel

Local Car Drop-Off / Pick-Up
  • See highlighted College Road drop-off / pick-up lane
    • There will be campus police presence in this area during the Spring Game
  • Use John Herrick Dr. to avoid game day traffic—this route goes through medical campus and will not have priority outbound traffic from the game 
Saturday Bus Transportation

AM Drop-Off (7:00am-9:00am):  

  • May use the normal bus loading zone, or use the Herrick Transit Hub, the bus drop-off / pick-up loop behind the RPAC
  • Long-term bus parking: Carmack Lot
    • There will be shuttles running from 9:00am-3:00pm to those lots, pick-up/drop-off in front of Mount Hall/Herrick Transit Hub 

PM Pick-Up: Buses will not be allowed back on campus until 4:00pm as all roads transition to being outbound for game traffic

  • Mariah will be waiting for the Athletics team to signal to bring buses back and will push out a Remind to all coaches
  • After 4:00pm, busses may park in French Fieldhouse Lots through completion of awards
    • If that time constraint for loading busses will not work for you, please reach out to Mariah Lesar to coordinate a later pick-up time. 
Spring Game Traffic
  • Spring Game traffic starts at 9AM
    • No road closures
  • Afternoon event volunteers will expect to sit in 30-40 minutes of traffic. Please account for additional travel time.
  • Spring Game outbound traffic is priority from 1-4pm
    • All roads surrounding the stadium
    • No roads are closed 

 


2026 Science Olympiad STEM Expo

The College of Engineering CARE Office, and OHSO are excited to host its second annual OHSO STEM Expo at the State Tournament on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 4:30-7:00pm and Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 11:00-2:00pm in the South Gym at the RPAC. This is an incredible opportunity for students to explore STEM at OSU through hands-on activities offered by OSU students and faculty.

“WiFi@OSU” is a free network to be used by visitors of The Ohio State University such as family members, friends or general guests. In order to use the network, visitors must open a browser window and accept the terms of use.


Dining Options

Please refer to comprehensive list of dining options on the Travel Information page.

If you typically place an order for lunch or dinner, it is recommended you pre-order and pick it up in person on tournament day. Given the Spring Game starts at 12pm, High Street dining options will be cleared of major traffic by 11:30am for lunch, meaning no significant impact to typical lunch time operations. 


Awards Ceremony

The 2026 Ohio Science Olympiad State Tournament Awards will be held at the French Fieldhouse on April 18, 2026, following competition. Check out the Awards Ceremony page for more information!

  • 5:45 p.m. — Doors Open
  • 6:45 p.m. —  Welcome Video & Introductions
  • 7 p.m. — First Award Presented
  • 8:45 p.m. — Ceremony Over

Security 

Your safety is our number one priority. Coaches, chaperones, and parents are encouraged to add the non-emergency OSU Police number to your phone as a contact, 614-292-2121

  • Additional Security Measures:
    • RPAC: There will be security at all entrances to enforce wristband policy to enter the RPAC, and an officer floating throughout the facility
    • There is an increased public safety presence on campus with a few hundred police officers in the area.
    • Local car pick-up / drop-off zone will be monitored by campus security throughout the Spring Game.
